As the building block of our universe,stars provide insights to their cluster and galaxy. They shape the color and brightness of their galaxy,and record the evolution history of the galaxy with their chemical composition. In this talk I will introduce the impact of convection and stellar composition in stellar physics,and how they are connected to the stellar clusters and the Galactic chemical evolution.

报告人简介： 

Dr. Xiaoting Fu is an associate research professor at the Purple Mountain Observatory,Chinese Academy of Sciences. After receiving her Ph.D. degree in 2016 from the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste, Italy. Xiaoting worked in the University of Bologna and then the Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA) as a PostDoc. Xiaoting is mainly working on stars, both theoretically and observationally, including stellar modelling, stellar chemical abundances, stellar clusters, and using stars to study the Galactic chemical evolution. Xiaoting is the science co-leader of the MSE (MaunaKea Spectroscopic Explorer) Milky Way working group, and is an active member of several large surveys,such as the Gaia-ESO Survey,Chinese Space Station Telescope (CSST),and MUltiplexed Survey Telescope (MUST).
