报告摘要:

Reconstructing how planetary systems form and evolve remains a primary challenge in modern astrophysics. This talk leverages time-domain astronomy to probe these processes across two distinct evolutionary stages. First, I will present ALMA results on temporal variations in thermal emission from dust clumps within a planet-forming disk, demonstrating how dynamic motion of pebbles, a building block of planets, can be tracked over time. Second, I will shift to mature systems to show how time-baseline observations reveal long-term orbital dynamics. I will introduce a newly developed model that explains KEPLER’s non-zero phase of transit timing variations, demonstrating that resonant super-Earths—the most abundant class of exoplanets—undergo severe post-disk evolution due to exoplanet demographic tension that can cause them to break apart over 100 million years. Together, these studies highlight how time-resolved observations are crucial to unlocking both the birth and ultimate fate of planetary systems.
