      Recent solar satellite (e.g. SDO, IRIS, PSP, SolO, Aditya, CHASE, ASO-S) and ultra-high resolution ground-based (e.g. SST, GST, DKIST) observations have opened up new avenues for 21st century plasma-astrophysics. With unprecedented spatial, temporal, spectral resolution a very rich and abundant structure of the lower solar atmosphere is unveiled. These new observations clearly confirm the existence of MHD waves, oscillations and ubiquitous small-scale solar jets within a wide range of solar atmospheric magnetic structures, with most relevance in the present context, in the form of solar flux tubes. Here, we embark on the problem of how MHD waves, oscillations and highly localised plasma jets couple from the lower solar atmosphere to the lower corona along magnetic wave guides, with a particular attention to drive mass, momentum and energy flux. We focus on and discuss solar spicules, the "dark horses" of driving the dynamics of the lower solar atmosphere. We report on the physically very rich link between MHD waves and jets. The coupling and the associated physics are investigated by analytical and two- and three-dimensional MHD simulations. We unveil sufficient conditions that underline the ubiquity of the formation of these chromospheric jets. Our full 3D numerical simulations further support an interesting and fundamentally important  relationship between spicules and what we refer to as "coronal swirling conduits" (CoSCos) that form by drawing energy from the thermal and magnetic energy reservoir of the chromospheric plasma.

Robertus von Fay-Siebenburgen教授是国际知名的太阳物理学家,任职于英国谢菲尔德大学太阳物理与空间等离子体研究中心,是匈牙利科学院院士,也是欧洲太阳望远镜(EST)项目英国大学联盟(UKUC)的首席研究员,因其在太阳磁流体动力学(MHD)波、日震学及空间天气等领域的开创性工作而闻名,2025年荣获英国物理学会颁发的塞西莉亚·佩恩-加波施金奖章。截止目前共发表了超过120篇论文,其中包括2篇《科学》和1篇《自然》。他的代表性发现包括:(1)发现太阳大气中的扭转阿尔芬波并发表在《科学》期刊上;(2)证明了p-模振荡对针状体形成的直接动力学效应,并以此成为当期《自然》杂志的封面文章;(3)带领团队在太阳表面的巨型磁孔中首次观测到“香肠波”。
