Rapidly spinning and highly magnetized white dwarfs have been proposed as potential sites for particle acceleration within their magnetospheres. However, definitive confirmation of such systems remains elusive.
In this presentation, I will first introduce our study on non-thermal emission from the binary white dwarf system AR Scorpii. Our findings suggest that the observed non-thermal radiation primarily originates from synchrotron emission produced by electrons at mirror points. Additionally, I will discuss our recent work exploring the possibility of non-thermal X-ray emission from isolated magnetic white dwarfs within the framework of a pulsar-like scenario.
