Our understanding of how planetary systems evolve draws from measurements and observations of both our Solar System and extrasolar systems, as well as from studies of protoplanetary disks — particularly regarding the evolution of small and large bodies within them. In this talk, I will present a series of unconventional perspectives that nevertheless reveal key tensions between current theories and observations. I will begin with the so-called rotational disruption crisis of zodiacal dust in our Solar System, then turn to the vortex dust trapping crisis in a protoplanetary disk. Finally, I will explore the potential of deuterium as a tracer for validating the role of atmospheric escape in shaping exoplanetary demographics — a process whose connection to orbital architectures remains intriguingly unresolved.

报告人简介:
辜品高博士现任中国台湾“中研院”天文与天文物理研究所副研究员,在美国德州大学奥斯汀分校取得物理学博士学位。专长于系外行星、原始行星盘与星际冲击波的理论与数值研究。利用理论模型探讨行星在FGKM型恒星周围的形成与演化,以诠释KEPLER任务的观测结果并进行预测。通过热潮汐理论,解释热木星的异常半径。通过ALMA观测资料分析原始行星盘中的动力结构等与行星形成密切相关的物理因素。研究太阳系内纳米尘埃的起源,探讨恒星形成区中冲击波的流体不稳定性,发现了“拖曳不稳定”现象。参与多项国际合作计划,并于国际著名期刊发表多项研究成果。亦在台湾大学及师大教授星体物理、天文力学等课程,长期投入学术研究与科普推广。
