题目:Gravitational Wave Modeling and Numerical Relativity with AMSS-NCKU code

摘要:
Detecting gravitational wave directly is hard. Partly, this is because constructing
the theoretical model for gravitational wave sources is hard. A good gravitational wave model
can not only improve the detection sensitivity of a given instrument but also provide
basis for source parameter extraction from gravitational wave detection. Such modeling
is hard because solving Einstein's equations is hard with respect to realistic celestial
objects. Analytical method is impossible to treat this problem currently.
Even using numerical method to treat this problem is highly non-trivial. How to convert
Einstein's equations to an numerically solvable problem? How to make the numerically
solving process stable? How to numerically solve the problem quickly and accurately enough?
I will touch these issues in this talk. In addition, I will introduce the AMSS-NCKU numerical
relativity code which is developed by our group. Some related applications of AMSS-NCKU
code will be discussed.
